Getting "Handy" in the classroom with technology integration!

Welcome to the Mentor-Connector Project!

Teaching online is one of the newest markets for teachers, but it is a different experience than the traditional classroom! Here you will find links to assist those of you who volunteer for the NCDSB's Mentor Connector Project.

Use the Activity Steps in the left column to complete the training online, and remember to check out the Mentor-Connector Resources in the right column!

Check Out These Useful Mentor-Connector Resources

Step 1: Download the Mentor-Connector Handbook from this link. (To download a file is to move the file from the server computer to your own personal computer for use. To download a file, place your cursor over the blue link for the file and right-click. Select Save Target As to move the file to your own computer—be sure you know where you save it!) Access the curriculum guides that NCDSB has prepared for your use!
Step 2: Open the Handbook file so you can use it with the module.
Step 3: Open the Mentor-Connector Learning Module (click on the blue hyperlink to ‘play’ the module.)
Step 4: Advance the slides and listen to the narration. Feel free to stop the narration and view the pages discussed in the video.
Step 5: Jot down the critical page #s that you want to remember in your handbook - these should include the contact numbers on Page 3, the crisis information on Page 16, and Pages 38/39 for the list of support people NCDSB provides for its students.
Step 6: Take a screen shot of the Certificate Slide and paste into a word processing document (like MS Word) and email this electronic document to Candace or Vince. They will send you a username and password so you will be ready to mentor!
