Getting "Handy" in the classroom with technology integration!

Welcome to the Mentor-Connector Project!

Teaching online is one of the newest markets for teachers, but it is a different experience than the traditional classroom! Here you will find links to assist those of you who volunteer for the NCDSB's Mentor Connector Project. So follow the activities below to begin your mentoring experience!

Activity 1: Complete the Mentor-Connector Learning Object

Step 1: Download the Mentor-Connector Handbook from this link. (To download a file is to move the file from the server computer to your own personal computer for use. To download a file, place your cursor over the blue link for the file and right-click. Select Save Target As to move the file to your own computer—be sure you know where you save it!)
Step 2: Open the Handbook file so you can use it with the module.
Step 3: Open the Mentor-Connector Learning Module (click on the blue hyperlink to ‘play’ the module.)
Step 4:

Advance the slides and read the NOTES.

Step 5: Print out the results page from the quiz using File>Print from your browser window. Bring the printed sheet to your next class in order to receive your password to the Mentor-Connector Portal.

Activity 2: Time to Mentor!

After reading the tutorial for the portal tool, use your username and password to log into the NCDSB's Mentor Connector Portal. The portal is located at: http://mentor.ncdsb.com

Remember to complete an entry on your Mentor Connector Project Log sheet at the end of each hour that you spend mentoring! (You can download the form from this link: Mentor Connector Project Log or you can access the form in the Project Descriptions area of the Resources link on ISAAK/SAKAI).

You may also want to access the curriculum guides that NCDSB has prepared for your use!
