What are Chain of Event Diagrams?

Chain of Event diagrams show a sequence of actions, steps, or stages. These are usually constructed as a flowchart. The Wikipedia states that chain of event diagrams "show the relationships between events and tasks and how the events affect each other." Enchanted Learning contains many templates and an example. ClassTools.net includes a Burger template that is a Chain of Event diagram.
